Treasurer

The Clarion County Treasurer’s Office is responsible for managing Clarion County’s deposit accounts and remits all checks for said accounts.  The office is also in charge of short term investments and ensuring the county is getting the best interest rates.

The Treasurer is an elected official for a 4-year term.  The office is responsible for depositing, investing and expending the county funds. Monies are received from various county offices, as well as the state.  When the local tax collectors bring the county tax dollars to the Treasurer’s office, the Treasurer is the one who receives it and deposits and invests it for the highest yield. 

The Treasurer’s Office is in charge of over 50 various accounts plus signs and prints hundreds of checks per week.  This office acts as a dual office, doing both county and state business.  The office works as an agent for the Commonwealth of PA for sales of dog, hunting, fishing and firearm permits, small games of chance and bingo licenses.  The office is also responsible for processing over 12,000 doe tags each year.

The Treasurer’s Office also collects the 3% Hotel Tax from all hotels and Air B&B’s in the Clarion County.

Plat Books are available for $50 at the at the Treasurer's Office in the Administrative Building and at the GIS Office located in the Clarion County Courthouse.
