MISSION STATEMENT
The Clarion County Department of Public Safety’s mission is to protect the citizens, visitors, property and environment of Clarion County by establishing a program of prevention, preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery to natural occurring and human caused disasters in Clarion County.
The Mission of the Clarion County 9-1-1 Communications Center is to contribute to the safety and quality of life in our community by linking the citizens and our public safety agencies with efficient, reliable, responsive, and professional public safety communications services. We take pride in dedicating ourselves to professionalism and public service, understanding that we are often the first representatives of local government to interact with citizens in need. We are constantly seeking ways to improve the quality of service we provide to the community and facilitate the development of highly trained, proficient, and dedicated personnel.
Our office oversees the Emergency Management function in Clarion County. We also operate Clarion County’s 24-hour Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP / 9-1-1 Center). The Department of Public Safety also serves as Clarion County’s voting representative with the North West Central PA Emergency Response Group for homeland security-related matters and Emmco West Board of Directors for EMS related matters. The Department of Public Safety functions under the direct supervision of the Clarion County Board of Commissioners and is overseen by the Director of Public Safety.
