Volunteer Organizations CCVOAD

What is the C.C.V.O.A.D.?

The CCVOAD (Clarion County Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters) is an umbrella organization of human service and governmental agencies, faith-based organizations, business and related groups that come together and utilize their resources and expertise for the purpose of fostering coordinated disaster response.

The CCVOAD program does not impinge on its members' autonomy or mission, instead it emphasizes cooperation, coordination, communication, and collaboration in delivery of disaster relief services. The CCVOAD is part of the Pennsylvania VOAD (PaVOAD) which was formally organized in 2006.  The PaVOAD is broken down into three areas, Western (which CCVOAD is part of), Central, and Eastern. PaVOAD is part of the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD).  The NVOAD was developed in 1969 following Hurricane Camille, and formally organized in 1971.

The CCVOAD held it organizational meeting in January 2011.  Please watch this website's training calendar for the dates and locations of these meetings.

If your organization is interested in joining the CCVOAD or would like more information about the CCVOAD, feel free to contact the Clarion County Department of Public Safety at (814) 297-7995.
